Kiwi singer Jackie Bristow swings by Bannockburn as part of her 18-date national tour this summer.

The Southlander hits the highways and byways of heartland New Zealand after a three-month road trip of the United States last year, crossing Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and southern and northern California, before returning to Austin and west Texas.

The folk pop artist has opened for acts such as Tommy Emmanuel, Marc Cohn, John Oates, John Waite, Bettye Lavette, B. J. Thomas, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, Charlie Robison, Rick Springfield, Bob Schneider, Jimmy Lafave, Euge Groove, Ruthie Foster and Howard Jones.

Jackie Bristow will play favourite songs and new tracks from her fourth album at Carrick Wines, Bannockburn, with special guest Mark Punch, on February 15, at 7pm. Tickets cost $25 and are available from the winery on Cairnmuir Rd.

4pm:
Monty's Bar and Restaurant hosts its first Brewers' Series Party, complete with free barbecue, free craft beer tastings and live music from ''Pol'', a Scottish singer-songwriter-guitarist playing covers and originals. Classic rock covers five-piece band the Mutz Nutz play live from 9pm.

Wednesday
1pm to 5pm:
Residents and visitors are invited to pack a picnic and come along to the Queenstown Gardens for a community picnic to celebrate Waitangi Day.

Queenstown musician Ned Webster will be master of ceremonies for the second annual event, introducing live music from performers and telling stories of the history of the Wakatipu. Stalls offering Maori massage and hangi food are planned and people will also be able to try flax weaving.

People can bring a picnic or buy food on site.
