Where are they now?
2021: After working as a physiotherapist at Dunedin Hospital, Shanks is now undertaking a PhD at the University of Auckland in stroke rehabilitation research. Alongside this, she works as a research physiotherapist on a large stroke trial being run by the university
out of Auckland Hospital. The study is using cutting-edge technology to see if it can help improve outcomes after strokes. Shanks completed honours degrees in both neuroscience and physiotherapy at the University of Otago and has had an academic paper published
in the world-leading British Journal of Sports Medicine.
