Firefighters work at the scene of a vegetation fire on Littles Rd near Arthurs Point yesterday afternoon.

The fire, caused by wind-blown embers, led to the closure of the road and a two-hour effort by firefighters.

Three fire engines from Frankton and Queenstown Fire Brigades and a Fulton Hogan water tanker attended the fire, which burned an area of about 60sq m.

Queenstown Fire Brigade Senior Station Officer David Christie said the fire on land owned by Wood Lot Properties was caused by the wind picking up rubbish fire embers on a neighbouring property, for which there was a fire permit.
