Two buses brought 70 competitors in the 2012 $10 Queenstown Challenge to Cure Kids to the final leg of their epic journey on Saturday afternoon.

The competitors have travelled the length of New Zealand in three days.

Their final challenge was a wine race at Gibbston Valley Winery, where one member of the team had to run with a mouthful of wine and spit it into a plastic wine glass.

The other member of the team was then blindfolded and carried the glass, on a tray, over a cross-country course to the finish line.

From there, the 35 teams were taken to Queenstown, where a KJet ride to Queenstown Bay preceded a procession along the waterfront, led by a piper.

At Hotel St Moritz, the cold and tired competitors were greeted by members of Queenstown's Kiwi Haka group.

The competitors then performed their own rousing haka to end the race.
