The McIver and Veitch Demonstration day has traditionally run in Dunedin and Invercargill, and this year the motorcycle outlet is bringing the bikes to Queenstown as well.
McIver and Veitch Harley salesman Keith Smith said the "hog rally" was about giving those who had never ridden a Harley-Davidson, as well as those with plenty of experience, the chance to try out the latest models.
"Some of them just like to have a ride on a Harley and that's fine."
The Dunedin business will bring a selection of the 2013 models to the Queenstown Events Centre for the demonstration day on September 23 from 10am-3pm.
The bikes, which range in price from $14,000 to $40,000, can be ridden by anyone with a full motorcycle driver's licence.
Mr Smith said so far the event had been without "incident".
"We've never had someone ding it in all the years we've been here."
The riders would be taken on a controlled 30-minute ride around local roads, including the 100kmh zones.
Mr Smith said they had taken the Harleys to Cromwell, Clyde and other Central Otago locations, so it was time to come to Queenstown.
"We like to give different areas a go. If successful, we'll do it again."
He said Queenstown had not traditionally been the biggest market for selling Harley-Davidsons, but he did not see a reason for that.
"Maybe it's a wee bit transient by nature. The market should probably be as good as anywhere else."
Owner Jason Veitch said by holding the bike demo in Queenstown he hoped to attract all Central Otago people who had a fascination and love for the Harley brand.
