Hundreds of budding musicians give the "ukulele salute" at the annual Ukulele Kids' Jam held at George St Normal School in Dunedin.
The event, held in two sessions yesterday and today, was led by Music Education Otago educators Alison Caldwell and Ruth Buchanan. It catered for more than 800 enthusiastic children from 36 schools in the Dunedin area in total.
After learning songs and ukulele accompaniment at their schools, they gathered for a morning of enthusiastic communal music-making, assisted by a backing band.
