Further investigations are to be made into Hampden wastewater options.
A project plan was endorsed by the Waihemo Community Board at its meeting in Palmerston this week, which will advance investigations into possible alternative or additional options for managing Hampden's wastewater.
Board chairman Rod Philip said some Hampden properties would be resurveyed to gather information on septic tank management.
The Waitaki District Council will write to all property owners involved to outline the process and a public meeting will be held in Hampden on August 13 to establish a community liaison group and advise the community of the project time line.
This liaison group will include town ratepayers and some Waihemo community board members, Mr Philip said.
The board has previously endorsed the use of Hampden amenity rate funds of up to $36,800 from the 2012 and 2013 financial years for the investigation. A previous investigation into wastewater options was considered too costly by Hampden residents and did not proceed.
