Ice-skating, baking, singing and dancing have kept about 80 children involved in Lakes Leisure's school holiday programme busy this week.
Community programme and recreation manager Jendi Paterson said feedback from the first week of activities had been excellent. Th0e children had gone to the movies, spent time in the Alpine Aqualand pool and had taken part in the Holiday Programme's Got Talent show.
Today the children will be split into groups and try their hands at building a fort before a relaxing end to the busy week, with an afternoon of DVDs - which would not be complete without popcorn and hot drinks.
"The kids are loving it," Ms Paterson said.
"The first week has been full, but we've got quite a lot of spaces left for next week.
The programme cost $3.14 an hour per child. Drop-off time for children was between 8.30am and 9.30am and pick-up between 3pm and 3.30pm.
A late session, from 3.30pm to 5pm was also available for an additional $10.
