This weekend, visitors to an exhibition might be able to witness alien intelligence being channelled from Queenstown, in aid of the resort's stray and feral cats.
The Mind, Body and Soul Expo, an alternative living expo aligned with the final weekend of the Winter Festival, might feature an alien communication session, which would be held on Sunday night.
Organiser Vicki Bonham said this was the first year the expo had featured during the Winter Festival, as for the last eight years it had been included in the autumn festival.
Running from today until Sunday, the number of stalls would vary daily but typically there would be around 20, featuring holistic and healthy living tools such as crystals, remedies and massage therapy.
The $5 entry would benefit Queenstown Cat Rescue, which hopes to run a free de-sexing campaign in August.
Vicki Bonham said this year's expo would be "bigger and brighter" than previous events.
"There's a whole bunch of really interesting people coming from all over New Zealand with lots of new age ideas and ancient wisdom."
She recommended the "fascinating" talks and workshops scheduled each night, culminating in the potential channelling of alien information on Sunday.
Tonight there would be a clairvoyant and mediums talk and tomorrow night would feature a chakra balancing and clearing workshop.
The expo will be held at the Queenstown Arts Centre, corner of Ballarat and Stanley Sts, from 11am-4.30pm for the daytime events.
