As part of the inaugural Otago University Students' Association and Blue Oyster Art Project Space "Art on Campus" project, several artists' work will be installed at various sites around the campus throughout the second semester.
Blue Oyster Art Project Space director Jamie Hanton, who has co-ordinated the project with OUSA's Kitty Brown, said the project would introduce students to new ideas and give them a chance to engage in art outside of a gallery setting.
The art would be placed in appropriate sites around the campus at various times throughout the semester, with a series of works linked to biology by Sue Novell being projected on the outside of one of the science buildings and a series linked to sport being shown in the new Unipol building at the Forsyth Barr Stadium.
"It's about working with the ideas that the university has already and giving them another illustration," he said.
OUSA spokesman Alasdair Johnston said the project would make the campus more interesting.
"It will add a little bit of spice to the campus and get the students thinking a bit more," he said.
