Three teenagers have been arrested after they stole a car from Mosgiel this week, police say.
Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said about 3pm yesterday, police were looking for stolen cars in Ocean View and came across a stolen Mazda in a car park.
Police approached the three occupants of the car but they took off at speed.
A short time later, they found the empty car on Creamery Rd in Ocean View.
"Attending police staff called for a dog handler, however in the meantime searched the rural area and located the three youths."
Two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old girl were arrested and bailed to appear in Youth Court on Monday facing charges of unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle.
The driver will also be charged with unlawfully taking the car and dangerous driving.
