Two magnitude 4.2 earthquakes rattled New Zealand today.
The first was at a depth of 30km about 10km south-west of Wellington at 11.33am.
It was felt in the Wellington region and Picton but emergency services had no reports of damage.
Almost an hour later, aquake struck 10km south of Ross on the West Coast at a depth of 15km.
