Organisers have taken pity on players by rescheduling the final stages of the Oceania Olympic football tournament in Taupo this week.
Bad weather highlighted by 100kmh winds led to the postponement of yesterday's games until today and teams had been expected to play the semifinals tomorrow and final on Saturday.
But the Oceania Football Confederations has had a rethink and the semifinals will now be played on Friday with the final on Sunday.
They said player welfare was their top priority and 24-hour turnarounds between matches should be avoided.
The winner of the tournament gains direct entry to the London Olympics.
