Racing: Terror To Love resumes

Terror To Love is set to begin his countdown to the Auckland Cup in the Hororata Cup at Addington on Friday night.

Terror To Love, winner of the New Zealand Cup in November, has not raced since he finished last in the Miracle Mile at Menangle on November 26.

He was spelled after that race. He has won trials at Motukarara and Addington this month.

"He seems well," Paul Court, his co-trainer, said.

The $250,000 Auckland Cup is on March 9, with the $50,000 City Of Auckland Free-For-All a week earlier.

Bushrod, who has been to the fore in workouts since joining the Templeton stable of Jim Curtin, has been entered for the Hororata meeting.

Bushrod finished fourth at Omakau on January 2 at his lone start. The 3yr-old Washington V C-Viva La C C gelding was bought out of the stable of Murray Swain by Russell Nieper, of Dunedin, and transferred to Curtin.

Mr Nieper won eight races with Slash An Burn after buying the son of Christian Cullen-Jaz Atom out of the Swain stable as a 2yr-old. Slash An Burn finished third in his only start for Swain. Slash An Burn was sold to Australia in 2010 after being trained by Curtin.

Hone Heke, winner of three of his four starts but unraced for four years, won a workout at Forbury Park on Saturday.

The 6yr-old son of Christian Cullen-Rangatira is now trained by Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman at Westwood Beach.

Hone Heke won his races as a 2yr-old at Winton (twice) and Forbury Park and finished third to Sir Clive and Myouri in the NZ Sapling Stakes at his other start when trained by part-owner Brian O'Meara.

Malak Uswaad has been exported to the United States. A last-start winner at Addington on December 31, Malak Uswaad won six races when trained by David and Catherine Butt and another three for Peter and Leonne Jones.

Talkmeintoit has joined the Levels stable of Murray Tapper, who negotiated his sale to Ray Cahill, of Sydney. Talkmeintoit was left with Oamaru trainer Phil Williamson and has won four races.

The Tapper-trained Stylish Monarch, who finished second to Vulcan in the Dullard Cup at Melton last Friday, is booked to return to NZ next weekend.

Stylish Monarch will travel by road back to Levels. There is a race for him at Addington in April before the Rowe Cup meeting in Auckland.

Mister Presley, who missed a race at Addington on February 4 when amiss in the blood, has been entered for the Hororata Cup. He won a workout at Rangiora on Saturday in 2.33.1 for 2000m (mobile), the last 800m in 56.1.
