Two cranes work recently, on lifting pre-cast concrete panels into place on the $10 million Countdown supermarket being constructed for Progressive Enterprises at Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin.

To the left of 1.1ha site is the Dunedin Gasworks Museum, which was the gasworks site from 1863 until its closure in 1987.

In the foreground, to the right of the recently rebranded Z Energy petrol station are supplies, containers and offices and parking space for main contractor Lund South, which will eventually become a 179-vehicle parking space. The 3800sq m supermarket is due to open in March, employing up to 150 people.
