Meth, cash found in gang raid

Police have taken down an organised crime gang in Dunedin, seizing methamphetamine and $40,000 in cash.

A search warrant, involving two gangs, was carried out at a residential address yesterday.

Southern criminal investigation manager Detective Inspector Shona Low said a woman had been arrested, charged with several offences.

The woman would appear in the Dunedin District Court today.

Another gang associate had also been arrested for aggravated robbery and other drug-related offences and would appear in court next week.

Det Insp Low said police would not tolerate continued gang activity, including drug dealing and violence, which would harm communities already subject to an "extremely stressful" environment.

"This underlines our commitment to do everything we can to reduce the harm methamphetamine causes and ensure those who make and sell it are brought to justice and do not profit from their trade in misery."
