St Clair continued its winning form to become the Otago senior pennant champion after posting two 5 to 1 wins at Tapanui yesterday.
The final was a replay of the Coastal final with St Clair winning five games to take both titles for 2011.
North Otago also had the senior B team playing in Balclutha yesterday and was stretched for numbers having to default a game in the semifinal as well as the final.
Despite being a player short, North Otago squeaked home over Alexandra in the morning while St Clair had a 5 to 1 win over Balclutha. St Clair was led by Otago No 1 Brent McEwan and Otago No 4 Chris Snow, who posted two wins each to lay the foundation for a St Clair win.
Otago masters (over-40) golfer Stephen Hitchcox also chimed in with two wins at the expense of David Ward (Balclutha) and Oamaru's Paul Velenski.
North Otago was looking to the future, placing Waitaki Boys' High School pupils Kris Rush and Cameron Ryder in the top two berths.
Rush halved his morning match with John Roche while Ryder had an impressive 5 and 4 win over Brandon Gaw.
But the pair struggled against McEwan and Snow in the afternoon final while masters golfer Gary Creedy was the only Oamaru player to win, beating Greg Johnson in the final.
