Icebergs make their way up the Otago coast. The icebergs are about 90km south-southeast of Dunedin and travelling north-northeast at a speed of about 2kmh.

They came from the Ronne Ice Shelf bordering the Weddell Sea, on the far side of the Antarctic, about 13,500km from the New Zealand mainland. The icebergs are expected to melt as they travel through warmer waters.
