Smoke prompts fire crew callout in Invercargill

Fire crews have been called out to a house fire in Invercargill this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said they were called to the scene - on Dipton St - at 10.54am.

He said a house was reportedly full of smoke, but the extent of the fire was not yet known.

A witness at the scene said there were no visible flames, and it didn't appear to be a serious blaze.
