Alpine Health and Fitness manager Richie Heap said more than $5500 was raised in the first half of October by gym members and the public through special "pink" classes, including a Bid for your Bike RPM class held on October 8. The money would go to the the foundation, which would then "funnel it back into the Wakatipu area", to support those affected by breast cancer.
Mr Heap said he was thrilled with the support from the community for the cause.
"It's always a good time and it's good to see everyone jump on board. Everyone's really eager to help."
