Two Dunedin police officers convicted last year of assaulting an offender while he was being restrained no longer work for NZ Police.
Police confirmed last night Duncan Hollebon and Brenton Rooney, who had been suspended on full pay since the day after the February 2009 incident, were no longer employed by police.
It is understood their employment was ended recently. Southern police district spokeswoman Vivien Pullar referred all questions to police headquarters in Wellington, but a spokesman last night said police were unable to answer further questions.
