Emergency services were called to the Dunedin suburb of St Clair after a car went over a bank earlier today.
A police spokesman said police, St John, and fire crews were called to Cliffs Rd at 1.23pm.
One person was helped from the car, which was in "quite a precarious position''.
They were not injured, the spokesman said.
One lane was blocked, and a towing company had been called.
