Helicopters and fire crews are tackling a fire at a beach near Aramoana in Dunedin this afternoon.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand was called at 12.30pm to a fire in pine trees at Whareakeake - also known as Murdering Beach.
The 100m by 150m blaze included multiple seeds of fire, a FENZ spokesman said
Two helicopters had been called due to difficulty getting to the site.
Two appliances from Waitati and Wakari were at the scene.
