Three 900kg roller doors stolen from construction site

Queenstown police believe a hiab or forklift was likely used to steal three roller doors and their motors from a construction site on Grant Road.

Sergeant Steve Watt, of Queenstown, said the burglary happened some time between September 24 and October 15.

Each of the black doors, about 4.8 metres long, weighed about 900kg.

"They definitely would have needed a vehicle to transport those and more than likely lift them.''

Police are also investigating historic damage done to three campervans parked at Frankton.

Sgt Watt said vans had been parked in a rental vehicle car storage area on Hawthorne Drive, opposite Wakatipu High School, and broken in to sometime between November 25 and October 2.

"Once inside they've let off fire extinguishers, broken shower doors [and] smashed GPS units.''

Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area was asked to contact police.
