Takemitsu's Garden (2010) is one of six new oils on canvas and three mixed media works on paper to arrive from the studio of Warkworth landscape artist Garry Currin to Milford Galleries, Queenstown.

Wanganui-born Currin's collection of darkly-veiled landscapes and works on paper form the exhibition "This Day, That Hour", in the Church Lane gallery, until September 21.

The 59-year-old artist was a finalist in the Wallace Visa Gold Award in 1999 and a finalist in the James Wallace Awards 10 times since 1995, in addition to winning the "people's choice" vote in 2004. Currin won the BMW Bonnet Artist grand prize at the BMW art awards in 2008 and a merit in the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Awards, this year.
