The Queenstown doubles specialist continued his strong US Open form to claim a win over French duo Jeremy Chardy and Fabrice Martin yesterday.
Alongside Brit Luke Bambridge he made a strong start, taking the first set 6-3.
They were then taken to a tiebreak in the second set, but prevailed 7-4 to take the set 7-6.
The win takes the duo to the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam for the first time since Wimbledon last year.
It also guarantees him and Bambridge a cool $NZ144,000 in prize money.
He will play the winner of this morning’s match between top-seeded Colombian pair Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah and Dutch duo Robin Haase and Wesley Koolhof.
