A vote to approve the location of Mosgiel's new pool has been delayed as the Dunedin City Council seeks more information.
Councillors were expected to vote on the location of the new multimillon-dollar aquatic centre at a meeting yesterday but a report on the proposal was withdrawn on Monday after councillors requested additional information.
In a statement, council city services general manager Sandy Graham said the additional information related to Reserves Act issues, resident consultation and previous decisions of the infrastructure services and networks committee about a preferred site.
It was hoped a revised report could be presented to the council at a meeting on August 27, Ms Graham said.
Last week, the council announced it was recommending the $15million facility be built at the south end of Memorial Park, on the site of the car park, near the grandstand.
Residents living near the proposed site have already raised concerns about the effect the pool would have on them and a perceived lack of communication by the council.
Council parks and cemetery manager Scott MacLean said that the site was recommended because it was centrally located, accessible for pool users and would limit the impact on Memorial Park sports grounds.
