The Snow Park did not have enough snow to open today, general manager Robin Sadowski-Synnott said yesterday.
The terrain park on the Pisa Range was able to make snow for up to 12 hours on Wednesday night but was thwarted by warmer temperatures on Thursday night, she said.
Treble Cone and Cardrona plan to open next Thursday and Friday respectively. Staff training has started at both skifields and short bursts of snow-making have been possible, but more natural snowfall is required.
Both skifields are focused on opening as planned but will re-evaluate their options next week.
