The long and rich tradition of the Otago Capping Sextet was celebrated in a lively and risque hour of music, words and images at the Hocken Library at 3pm on Saturday.

Hocken librarian Sharon Dell was delighted with the success of the event, which marked the 125th anniversary of Otago Capping Show.

Among the many highlights was a performance by the current sextet. More than 70 people attended the event, staged by Hocken Collections to celebrate both New Zealand Music Month and the University of Otago's 150th anniversary.
