North Otago police are investigating the cause of a crash on the Waitaki Bridge this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 1 about 9am, after a vehicle appeared to have crossed the centre line and struck the side of the bridge north of Oamaru.
There were no reports of injury and no other vehicle was involved.
While the highway did not close, traffic across the bridge was down to one lane.
Constable Ruth Perham, of Oamaru, said police were trying to establish the cause of the crash.
