A 21-year-old woman will appear in the Alexandra District Court tomorrow to face seven charges as a result of an incident at a Cromwell hotel at the weekend.
The Cromwell woman was at the hotel when police were doing routine checks late on Friday and early on Saturday.
She was "extremely intoxicated" and refused to leave when asked.
The situation "escalated", Constable Doug Winter said.
The woman has been charged with three counts of assault, two of them involving police officers. She is also charged with disorderly behaviour, threatening to kill, wilful damage and resisting arrest.
