Visitors filled the Oamaru Showgrounds on Friday and Saturday for the 156th North Otago A&P Show.
The attendance was so strong that car-parking volunteers from local Lions clubs and ATC were struggling to find spaces to meet demand.
The rain that threatened to dampen proceedings held off until Saturday afternoon, allowing most of the activities to go ahead unhindered.
A&P Association president Andrew Kingan acknowledged the huge amount of work put in by secretary Katrina Kelly and long-serving groundsman Ray Fox.
The showgrounds were ''a wonderful asset'' to the community and the strength of the show relied heavily on volunteer input, he said.
Newcomers were invited to join the organising committee and ensure the show thrived in the future.
