Racing: Earnshaw gains drive on Ray

Ray, winner of three of his four starts, will be driven by David Earnshaw at Addington tonight.

The 3yr-old trotter has had a different driver in each of his wins.

Robert Butt drove him to win at Addington last Friday.

Anthony Butt and Dexter Dunn have also won with Ray, who is trained by Tim Butt and Phil Anderson.

Earnshaw is employed by the stable.

He will also drive Chief Inanga (race 4) and Cullen's Creek (race 5) for the stable tonight.

He drove Chief Inanga to win at Addington last Friday when Cullen's Creek finished second to Cullini.

Chief Inanga, Cullen's Creek and Ray are in the first three legs of a guaranteed $200,000 Pick6.

One Over Kenny returned to New Zealand from Australia on Sunday and she will join the Papakura stable of Tony Herlihy for a fresh campaign.

"She will go to Tony after two weeks in quarantine and we will assess her work. We are leaving her in Auckland as most of her racing would be there," Lex Williams, her Waimate part-owner, said.

The rising 7yr-old mare, winner of 24 races and $627.924, has been a regular boarder at the Herlihy stable when trained by Phil Williamson.

Herlihy has driven One Over Kenny in 10 of her wins, including the Australasian Trotting Championship at Moonee Valley, Rowe Cup in Auckland and CB Cochran Cup at Geelong.

• Nimitz, who resumes racing at Oamaru on Sunday, is now trained by Christchurch part-owner Tony Cahill.

Nimitz won at Addington last August when trained by Paul Walkinshaw, at Addington.

The Courage Under Fire gelding was subsequently placed in six of his eight starts for Winton trainer Tim White.

Dexter Dunn has taken the drive on Enrage in the race for junior drivers on Sunday.

The David and Catherine Butt- trained Enrage won at Addington last Friday.

The Butt stable also has Justa Jackella in the junior drivers race at Oamaru.

Justa Jackella will be driven by Regan Todd, who drove the Live Or Die gelding to win his last start at Addington on July 10.

Gear changes for Addington tonight:

Race 3: Navy Cross -pull down blinds; Hanover McCall - hood.

Race 8: Goodonyamate - rein pricker replaces boring pole.

Race 9: Great Divide - no pull down blinds.
