Emergency services were called to a crash on Kawarau Gorge Rd (State Highway 6), near Cromwell, this afternoon.
The crash, between a car and van, happened about 12.20pm, and a police spokeswoman said she understood there were no injuries.
The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire and ambulance were also called to the scene.
