Queenstowners raised about $12,000 towards a life-changing surgery for three-year-old Harry Finch last week.

Harry and his twin brother Ollie were born premature in 2015, soon after Harry was diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy.

He’s been accepted for surgery in the United States to help him realise his dream to “walk one day” – that’ll cost about $150,000.

Harry’s dad Hayden Finch, Queenstown’s former Speight’s rep, says last Thursday’s Bitchin’ Bingo night at the Wakatipu Ruby Clubrooms, including an auction and an Emersons v Panhead beer tasting, hosted by Richard Emerson and Josh Drake, was a huge success.

The big-ticket auction item was a corporate box at Forsyth Barr to watch the Argentinian Jaguares v the Highlanders next May – that was purchased by the “Arrowtown syndicate” for abut $3000.
