Port Otago civil engineer Andy Pullar said Tuesday’s six-hour pour went without a hitch and the port was on target to complete the 11 concrete pours of its $23 million multipurpose berth extension by early September.
Aside from extending the wharf by 140m, there is also some wharf sheet piling to be undertaken, plus provision of a public fishing jetty.
The crane has driven 138 of the 32m piles since last October, and will be dismantled this week.
