El Chico had won six races when trained by Jan Hay at Ashburton.
Aluminium Bikerack, the filly who won the Guineas Prelude (1500m) yesterday for the Pitman stable, has the New Zealand Oaks as her target.

"She has a very strong staying pedigree."

Shuka is raced by Eric Parr, who has lost the services of his good pacer Still Coughin with a leg ailment.
Shuka was a $20,000 purchase by trainer Peter Williams on behalf of Parr at the select yearling sale at Karaka in February.
