The South's two secondary school rugby giants have battled to a stalemate.
Otago Boys' High School drew 14-14 with Southland Boys' in the first XV match at Littlebourne in their traditional interschool yesterday.
In a tight and physical game, the home side was forced to absorb a lot of pressure in the first half. It went to the break tied at 7-7.
Southland Boys' took the lead at 14-7 not long after, but Otago Boys' remained patient and hit back late in the game.
Otago Boys' had a tough shot at goal from close to halfway to win in the dying minute but it fell short.

Despite the draw, the overall interschool finished in a resounding 6-1 win to Otago Boys'.
Its second XV claimed a handy 38-14 win and its basketball side romped home 112-73 on the back of 32 points from Nathan Hanna.
Its football first XI won 3-2, the hockey first XI got home 1-0 and the debating team also won.
Southland Boys' only win came in the smallbore in which it emerged a 734.21-709.9 victor.
