Police are searching Invercargill for two youths seen running from a hedge fire about noon today.
A police spokeswoman said officers were conducting area searches, knocking on doors after witnesses and fire crews reported the youths running from the burning hedge near the intersection of Doon and Tay Sts towards Burger King.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Andrew Norris said crews were called shortly before 12pm to the fire, which at its greatest extent was 20m long and 3m high. Crews had the blaze under control shortly after arriving, he said.
