Kiwi Haka Queenstown delighted a large crowd of Queenstown residents and visitors with a surprise christmas performance on the Village Green yesterday afternoon.
Kiwi Haka Queenstown director Gareth Johnson said the performance was just one stop on an action-packed day.
The group of 20 performers enjoyed a day of activities including bungy jumping and bowling and decided to put on a brief festive show for the Queenstown public.
''We are all about giving back to the community ... and the rainy weather wasn't going to stop us,'' Mr Johnson said.
When not putting on spontaneous festive shows, Kiwi Haka Queenstown can be found performing traditional Maori songs, dances and stories at Skyline Gondola, four times a day.
