Parents who would like to better understand and better parent their teenage children will have an opportunity to hear the latest research into teenage brain development at a seminar later this month in Wanaka.

Hosted by Wanaka Alcohol Group, the Brainwave Trust Aotearoa seminar ``Unravelling the Mystery of the Adolescent Brain'', conducted by trust educator and coach Sarah Best, will look at recent research that shows why teenagers take more risks and display impulsive, emotional behaviour.

The reasons why teenagers' sleep patterns change, the effect of technology on them, and understanding how alcohol and drugs affect the adolescent brain will also be explained.

Teen seminar on March 20, from 7pm-9pm. Also, seminar designed for parents and caregivers of babies through to 5-year-olds on March 19, from 7pm-9pm. Both to be held at the Lake Wanaka Centre.
