The New Zealand's Next Top Model contenders visited their old school, allowing about 100 pupils to bombard them with questions about the show and their personal life.
Between queries about other contestants and their favourite photo shoots, the pupils did their best to find out about the inner workings of the TV3 show.
While the twins obliged by sharing incidents that never aired, including an underwater shoot during which Nellie nearly drowned, they could not give a clear answer to "How did you know the Sara Mail was actually there?"
Knowing they were animal lovers, the pupils also relished telling them their pet stories and sharing in their love of chickens.
Returning to their old school was "absolutely amazing" and the children's questions were "adorable", Nellie said.
"Coming back here has brought back so many amazing memories."
Despite reaching celebrity status, obvious from the hoards of signatures they penned yesterday, they continued to model, and work part-time as confidence tutors for AliMcD Modelling.
