Woman cut from car after crash

A woman was cut from a car after a crash on Brighton Rd, near Blackhead Rd, southeast of the central city today.

Lookout Point fire station officer Martin Jansen said emergency services were alerted to the crash just before 5pm, and they had to cut the roof and door off the vehicle before rescuing a "mature woman".

She was recovered by 5.20pm and taken to Dunedin Hospital.

He was uncertain of her condition, but she was the only person in the vehicle.

"The car appears to have rolled."

Two fire vehicles, an ambulance and police attended.
