A mobile security camera has arrived in Palmerston, thanks to a donation from the Palmerston Lions Club.
The $840 security camera could undertake surveillance of the town centre and the two local schools, which recently were vandalised and burgled, Constable Stefan Witehira, of Palmerston, said.
The camera, which can take up to 23,000 pictures over a five-month period, can also be used to identify intruders on property. The security camera would be an asset to the community, Waihemo Victim Support co-ordinator and Waihemo community board member Diane Curtis said.
