Dunedin police are tracking down a group of Dunedin people in relation to an assault which took place in Alexandra at the beginning of June.
Casey Pilgrim (20) and her friend, who wants to remain anonymous, said they were punched and kicked about 3am in Centennial Ave, Alexandra, while walking home after a night out.
Both received cuts and bruising and broken bones as a result of the attack.
Detective Ian Ferguson said it is still an investigation in progress and it appeared the offenders were Dunedin based.
"We do have an idea of who they are, and we expect to be talking to them within seven to 10 days."
Det Ferguson said anyone with any information about the assault should contact him at the Dunedin Central police station.
