Police caught four drink-drivers in Queenstown yesterday, all of them foreigners living in the resort.
Sergeant Mark Gill, of Queenstown, said all were above the criminal drink-drive limit of 400mcg, two were driving without valid licences, one was speeding and another was stopped after a phoned-in complaint.
It was disappointing they had chosen to put the community as well as themselves at risk by driving drunk, Sgt Gill said.
''If you're thinking about drinking and driving, we're out there to catch you.''
A 35-year-old man was stopped on Goldfield Heights at 12.20am after a phone call from a member of the public. He requested a blood-alcohol test after giving a breath-alcohol reading of 557mcg.
A 30-year-old man gave a result of 565mcg after he was stopped on Rees St at 2am. He was suspended from driving for 28 days for driving without a valid licence.
A 21-year-old woman was allegedly travelling at 80kmh in a 50kmh zone when she was stopped on Frankton Rd at 3.35am. She requested a blood test after giving a result of 475mcg.
A 26-year-old woman recorded 676mcg after she was stopped on Memorial Dr at 3.50am. She was also found to be driving without a valid licence, and suspended from driving for 28 days.

Next car they should be in is the one driven by an immigration officer on the way to airport.
If these people can't and won't respect our laws they should be kicked out of the country.
