Fire volunteers are pictured preparing to move the cars that crashed on the corner of Stanley and Shotover Sts. Emergency services were called to a head-on crash involving a Toyota Starlet and a Suzuki Aerio just before 7am. Only the drivers of the cars were involved.
St John Ambulance spokesman Gerard Campbell said while the crash was non-injury, the driver of one car was treated at the scene.
Sergeant Linda Stevens, of Queenstown, said: "The offending driver failed to give way when turning."
She did not say whether charges were likely.
Earlier, a police spokeswoman said by email: "There doesn’t appear to be any injuries. However the driver of one vehicle appears to be in shock."
The crash temporarily disrupted traffic as the vehicles were moved from the centre of the intersection, the scene was cleared of debris and fire volunteers hosed liquid off the road.
