One person is dead and three others injured after a crash involving a truck and a car south of Waihola on Saturday.
The crash, which happened about 3.20pm, blocked State Highway 1 in both directions for a time.
Three people, including the truck driver, were taken to hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
A temporary 50kmh speed restriction was in place for a time on Sunday morning before the NZ Transport Agency advised around midday that the road was clear.
