The injured driver of a car which crashed on Earnscleugh Rd on Friday night is progressing well in Dunedin Hospital's orthopaedic ward.
Alcohol, speed and wet roads were all possible factors in the crash, Central Otago sub-area commander Senior Sergeant Jill Woods said yesterday.
The 23-year-old Alexandra man crashed his car off the side of the road, narrowly avoiding an oncoming vehicle, she said.
His two passengers were treated at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
Police were continuing their investigations into the accident and had yet to decide whether any charges would be laid.
