Painter predicts future views

Dunedin artist Mark McLeod with his alkyd on canvas painting Winter in St Clair from the Dunedin Fringe Festival exhibition "Future Views''.

The exhibition is at his art studio, gallery, sauna and fitness facility Space4u in Allbell Chambers in Stuart St.

The painting imagines Dunedin with dense housing to cater for mass immigration.

The migration is a result of flooding caused by global warming forcing people to leave their countries.

The paintings in the free exhibition were mostly "imaginative'' from the science fiction genre, Mr McLeod said.

"It's certainly on the fringes of the art scene.''
